Some of the wardens out there are not very pleasant people from my personal experiences. You can do everything right and they still treat you like crap and claim you are a poacher.
Me personally I would have packed a rifle and said it was for coyotes or have a pig tag on me and go about my day...

I’ve ate wild hog my entire life some are just better table fare than others. Some of the absolute best meat I’ve ever had to eat has come off of dry sows that have had good feed all winter and spring on a real wet year.
I’ve also had quite a few that were freaking terrible, chuck a piece of it...
I know guys that would throw this in the trash. These were some of the quarters from a couple full rut mule deer bucks that were absolutely delicious.
Three weeks in a walk in cooler. What wasn’t cut into steaks made some really great smoked deer sausages.
Fix broken things for a mining company. Having a rotating 5 5 4 schedule leaves half the year off for me to do what I want if I don’t want to work OT. Saves a lot of PTO. Beats the hell out of the all day, everyday that the ag world can be.
Required on most sites.
I would also advise you have him get in the habit of using foam earplugs at all times. Getting a red hot bb in your ear is painful

Pretty happy with the 3M speedglas. Had some cheaper autos that sucked and the old huntsman 951 I bought when I was 16 is always on standby.
