I have been a Nallo fanboy for years, but that Staika might be my next tent! You mention the venting design being well conceived, I assume you don't have condensation problems?
That is a really clever idea, well done! Curious, did you know the person doing the new cabinet install? I'm wondering how a contractor would react if someone reached out asking to go to a clients home and take cabinets down.
I echo what others have said on using a local wholesaler, it was much cheaper than going through HD or Lowes which felt "marked up, to mark down". Even at sale prices, I'm saving a ton using a wholesaler. A few things I've learned about the cabinet process as I'm going through my own remodel...
I may have missed it but what type of hunting are you planning on doing? I think that is a relevant part of the discussion. I have 10x SLCs in a chest rig and 15x SLCs in my pack for use on a tripod. I've never felt like I needed a spotter for elk but I'm also not a trophy hunter. However, if...
Another vote for the 1/2 zip due to the pouch. Only thing to consider with the 1/2 zip is it can be more "difficult" to put on/off with a bino harness vs. the full zip. If purchasing again, I'd still buy the 1/2
Very interesting. I'll have to give that a try, seems much easier and cleaner than using your palm. I usually keep spare packed bearings in tuberware containers but like the idea of keeping them in sealed bags. I'll have to give this a try, thanks for the tip!
Interesting, was not familiar with this. Is this used instead of heat shrink or in addition to?
Is this what you are taking about: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000QUOOPQ/ref=twister_B0C6HPHCT5
Question for all you electricians... What brand electrical connectors, terminals and heat shrink do you all recommend? All relatively small wire applications (10-22 AWG) for boat, truck and marine applications. I'd rather spend a little more per component rather than potentially have a bad...
Was riding out a storm in my tent and thought that cutting my fingernails with a fixed blade knife would be a good way to pass the time. Ended up cutting myself and flinched with my knife hand..... putting the blade right through the inner wall of my tent.
I shot competitively at the collegiate level in the shotgun disciplines (trap, skeet, sporting clays, etc.). Did both ACUI and SCTP events as well as other regional collegiate events. We competed against the military academies who run pretty solid programs.
Speaking of the shotgun sports...
For a true lightweight 1P tent, I have the SG Skyair ULT. I use it primarily for summer hiking trips, early season archery hunts with mild weather, or when I'm expecting to be mobile. Overall, I'd recommend it for those applications and it served me well but not something I'd want to test in...
+1 for Scag.
I think you need to add Scag to your list for consideration and then decide to rule them out (maybe proximity to dealer is too much to overcome) but your list does not feel complete without them. IMO Scag is the only way to go if you are looking for heavy use around the farm /...
