Well done Matt, what an awesome hunt. I hope your as successful with your trad bow .
I have packed out a couple of deer during this rut , an I am interested how your pack performed ? Is your DT1 on a duplex frame, and if so what length?
What cubic inch is the pack, and did you have to bone the...
IdahoElk,
I found the sizes to be pretty accurate, if you want to layer up underneath I would suggest going the size up if your borderline.
I just had a look on their website and it looks like the large is out of stock, so the decision may have been made for you :)

Good2eat,
I had a look and yes it is pretty good for you guys over there. That flat rate of $20.00 is in AUD, at the moment it will be under $14.00 USD.
That is for a package up to 5kg (11 lbs) .
Pretty good value.
Mark.
If any of you guys are going to the Outdoor retailer show (winter market)Salt lake city, Utah
Then you will be able to see the Schist pant in person at the CORDURA brand booth.

No Ryan , just a friend.
I know the sacrifices made to start this company, and the hard won incite into there clothing designs that have come from over a decade of solo back pack hunting into the formidable south westland region of New Zealand.
As I am passionate about hunting this part of the...
Mat,
I have a Tusx stone sun shirt to, they are an awesome bit of kit for hot weather hunting.
Your buddy might like this shirt also, its made for more high exertion where maximum venting is needed in cooler weather, and for the shifting seasons where it can be cool in the mornings then heat up...
James,
The main pant material (the camouflage) has two way stretch. The CORDURA reinforcement sections have zero stretch.
There is a high vertical zipper up the outer leg to aid in boot removal.
You can see some detailed pictures if you scroll down on this link...
GKPrice,
The Sitka timberline pants do look like a good pant, although I haven't had any experience with them.
Although they do look similar to the Tusx Schist pant, there are some differences that set them apart.
The Tusx pant has No centre seam in the dry seat meaning less wear a more...
Tusx has released some pretty awesome new pants.
The dry seat in the pants (second link )looks pretty awesome.

Centre of picture is the ridge I was on earlier in the day.
Gear for a days mountain hunting.
Back at camp after another beautiful day in the mountains.
I headed back up the mountain to try and locate the Chamois we had seen the days before.
I glassed this Chamois doe from the other side of a knife edge ridge for a couple of hours to make sure there were no others in the area where I was going to approach from.
I had picked all my landmarks...
Next day we packed up our snow camp (5th camp)
and headed around the front of the range.
We were heading towards the area Clinton had shot his Chamois last year.

I decided to show my self and see if he would head back towards Clinton, I was fully expecting to see the reaction we had seen from the previous Tahr. this bull just stayed put and didn't seem bothered about me 100 m away.
He bedded back down and watched me.
Then he got up a while later and...
Next day was a big day, both of us headed our separate ways again, I was to sidle around the front of the range again but further this time as a recon to check we could make it round to the creek we were going to use to decend the mountain when the time came, and also to look for Chamois...

A little reminder of why we are doing what we are doing on Clintons bow.
