I ordered a SO tipi and stove this week, but I have wanted one for years. I understand the stoves are too small to last the whole night so I have been looking online to see what people have done to make them burn as long as possible. I was wondering if it would be a dumb idea to scavange a...
I want a set of these pants for motorcycle trips. They appeal to me because they look good, go up the lower back a bit for insulation, and are waterproof, but I am wondering about durability, and warmth. Anyone want to chime in on opinion about how well these would hold up on the road?
Edit: I...
I hunted this unit a couple years ago with my invalid father, we mostly just did a lot of driving around the base of Mt Lemmon and glassing. We found a lot of coues but I never saw a single mule deer. This year, I am bringing my friend to this area on his third hunt who has never had success...
Lems came out with a waterproof Boulder Boot, I have a pair I will probably be hunting in, I like how you can feel the ground with them a bit more. I dont think they would be what I choose to wear in some snow though, hard to be both minimalist and insulated well.
I'm pretty flexible, could go with 71, or 751, which I have been to before or try something new in 711 or 70. Or whatever, I am not married to any one place, I just go with Durango cause its the closest to LA, really.
Anyone going to be hunting elk in this area these dates? My buddy had to bail and I just wouldnt mind pitching tent with some other people. Dont need to hunt together but be cool to share a camp. I will be driving out from Los Angeles. Send me a PM
I hunted that unit in January. Just sit and glass, saw tons of coues deer every day, all over the unit. Getting up on one with a bow was not possible for me, but with a rifle I would have been eating backstraps for sure. I'd tell you my spot I liked most, but I might even be there while you are...
I have a Halon, buddy has a Vertix. I would just buy the Halon for the price difference. You're getting deep into the realm of diminishing returns, the Vertix is only marginally better in hand imo. Only thing is his has a newer rest mounting system that I am envious of.
I am looking to archery hunt in AZ this January for Mule deer. It will be my first time and I would love to bring my dad out there with me just to glass and have conversation with and perhaps direct me on a stalk. However he is 70 years old and has an amputated leg, so getting far from the...
