That is a nice cat! Looks like he was well fed indeed. Also, the taxidermy is very lifelike and natural.
A variant of Bergmann's Rule is a biological maxim that states that animals of the same species will be larger in colder climates (or more northern climates), than those of a warmer climate...
How long is your barrel? I just completed an AR-10 in 22 Creedmoor, 22" barrel. My initial load was 75 gr ELD-M as well. Looks really promising. 3420 ft/sec.
Like you, I just wish the dang thing didn't weigh so much. I had hoped it would serve well as a predator rifle.
These have seen minimal use and are clean.
Includes both neck and FL sizing dies in addition to seating die.
I also have one box of 20 unprimed new brass I'll include.

I've been a physician for over 40 years. I have seen the devolution of medicine from patient-centered, where the doctor was your advocate, to $$$ centered, where the patient is a financial opportunity. And I mean for Insurance companies and hospital organizations, not so much for the doctors...
50 years on April 4.
6 kids
19 grandkids
We're all doing a cruise in the Mediterranean next fall to celebrate.
At 71, I find an incredible richness in my life that comes from my marriage and from our terrific kids and grandkids. I have been blessed way beyond what I deserve!
This is 10 years...
After hunting pheasants over a good pointer, I became a 28 ga fan. I have a no-frills Ugartechea in 28 ga, IC and mod choked, double triggers, straight English stock. I found the 28 ga to be deadly, was long as I didn't shoot birds beyond 40 yards. It seems to punch well above its weight class...
No. There was 1 nonresident tag available for San Juan that year. I had maximum points, can't remember how many. But there were only 5 nonresidents that had max tags that year. At that time Paunsaugunt was the hot LE elk hunt, so previously all max point nonresidents had applied for that hunt...
You are right ckleeves.
I just checked GOHUNT, and none of the nonresident LE elk hunts show better odds that resident, for the same number of points.
I guess in my case that was an anomaly, or things have changed since 2010.
Here's a thought. I believe that you can take your Utah points with you when you move out of state. When I moved from Utah to Nebraska in 2010, I had accumulated 17 points. I did my research and found that the odds for drawing a premium elk hunt in Utah were much better for me as a nonresident...
Another vote for an illuminated reticle. Really helpful at dawn-dusk. I have 2 rifles with Leupold Fire Dot reticles.
Where and what are you hunting in NW Utah? That is where I grew up. I currently live in the mountains of central Utah.
Thanks for starting an interesting thread.
I assume that bison in your avatar is the one you killed with the TTSX out of your 338 WM. Where did you hunt? Was it the 225 gr?
About 10 years ago I drew a tag to hunt bison in the Henry Mountains in Utah. Turns out I shot my bull with that same...
