    It's probably worth mentioning that you can only receive a preference point from the primary draw. If you missed the primary draw, buy a qualifying license, enter secondary draw, are unsuccessful in secondary draw, you will not receive a preference point in that year.

    The way it works for me is I send them about $250 every year, anticipate the draw results date for about a week in late June and then receive three not selected notifications. Maybe next year.

    In my opinion it is crucial to scout the area before the hunt. E scouting is fine but you dont really appreciate how close the topo lines are together on a map until you try to hike up a mountain trail with your gear on your back.
