I decided to go with grim reapers this year and have absolutely loved the flight im getting from them. They make every style of broad head you'd need from fixed, hybrid, or pure mechanical. The previous posts I could also see being true as every S30V steeled knife I own when sharpening chips...
I shoot a 4 fletch with 2 yellow and 2 pink vanes with a pink nock and I can usually find them anywhere any time during the day or night. I found the neon yellow stands out better in low light and the pink stands out better during bright light conditions
I'm kinda partial to the PSE after shooting them. I wasn't that impressed by the RX-4 I actually preferred the axius.. it could've been how the shop had them tuned but the pse sat on target way nicer and would allow me to put my stabilizer weight where i want it without making the bow an anchor
The primes are very well balanced but man those suckers are loud.. and are a tuning fork in your hand after the shot. that being said if you can get over that ive never had a bow tune so well or hold a tune so well. very solidly built
PSE's carbon air mach 1, its speed is very deceptive it ibos way slow but in reality it shoots very quick. I can shoot it at 60# and it kicks out an arrow the same speed as my 70# Elite energy 35 440gr arrow going 272
I may cheat and have a harvest right freeze drier.. so i make borderline gourmet meals freeze dry them and just bring my water filter and backpacking stove to heat up the water. basically making higher quality mountainhouse meals
I think the price point thing is spot on. It's why some companies offer 4 packs and other 3 packs. the cool thing is usually the 4 packs have a lower markup so it's just the company taking a hit to offer more heads to be more appealing
I've been using a badlands Bino C case for my 10X42 vortex razors and love it. super compact super light. then I just clip my range finder to the side of it after attaching a bungee cord.
I've only ever used a 3 arrow tightspot.. If I need more than that I probably shouldn't be taking some of those shots.. unless the elk just stands there after the first arrow, then I turn them into a pin cushion
