I had their firefighting boots and there was a issue with the sole material. They sent me a warranty replacement no questions asked after I sent some photos. Got to keep the old boots too!
I love my sky 5900, but mostly because the x-curve frame fits my back so well. It's a little tall and touches the back of my head when loaded, which can be annoying. If you have a curvy back I'd recommend sky 5900 with x-curve. I try not to carry 100+ lbs, but I weighed my bag with quartered...
I really like my sky 5900, but that's because the X-curve frame is a good fit for my back. I went stone glacier because at the time it seemed like most frame packs were pretty straight up and down. I bet Kifaru's Ark frame pack would work great for me now but I hopefully won't ever need another.
I'm also looking at a tokeen. I was put off by the lack of side pockets but I just discovered the stone glacier hydro holder and used one all hunting season with my sky 5900. Definitely makes the tokeen more attractive for me.
I’m in southeast BC just north of Montana/Idaho. The good bear hunters that I know like glassing high elevation slide paths in early June. Dialing in the right elevation for new grass growth seems to be key and that can vary year to year.
For ultralight weight check out Wiser precision quick stix with the tripod attachment. Turns your hiking poles into shooting sticks and a very lightweight tripod
In BC they just banned them for hunting in non-motorized zones, but if you have a front hub motor you can use it to scout and remove it for hunting season.
