    Has anybody been up on the Haul Road yet this year 2022? I am headed up on August 27th for a week, just checking to see if people are seeing any caribou.

    Haul Road 2021 1st time

    The trip was a blast and the scenery is so beautiful in the fall, bugs weren't toooo bad. Wildlife abound, muskox, wolves, grizzly bears and fox. Be sure to bring a fishing pole as the fishing in the Sag is awesome and the side streams are full of grayling.

    We live in Seward Alaska, so it was about 2250 miles round trip, we put 2780 miles on the truck total for this trip.     Haul Road Hunt is an Adventure

    We went the week of August 22nd and the Caribou were slim up close to the road, however, there were some out a couple of miles and we were able to find some closer to the road. We saw muskox, grizzly bears, a black wolf and the fishing was awesome. Covered lots of miles on the road everyday...

    Haul Road 2021 1st time

    My son and I finally were able to do the Haul Road hunt for caribou and he connected on one. His first animal with a bow. And thanks to a great group of people from the Kenai for helping us out.
