Before and after. Very subtle difference in shade (minus the straps) using one bottle of Rit-Dye More chocolate brown using one teaspoon of dish detergent just shy of boiling for 45 minutes. I'd recommend two bottles and a larger pot than the 12 QT I used.
I'm currently washing the backpack after rit-dying it. I only have a 12 qt pot so we'll see how it looks after it dries. Comparison pics will be coming later.
My Fanatic Pack Elevated II pattern sticks out like crazy. Looks like I have a giant rabbit strapped to my back.
A darker camo would be MUCH better. I plan on Rit-Dye'ing it soon.
Just received the V6 3-18X50 today and the first thing I noticed was the misaligned mag ring which also feels gritty from 3X-10X(if that really is 3X and not 2.5X). My Swarovski Z3 3-10X42 has better image quality at 10X than does the V6 at 10X. At 18X it's very milky, low contrast.
The specs on...
I ordered the V6. My curiosity for the past few years needs to be extinguished. Cheaper first, then if I'm not satisfied, I'll try more expensive.
Hopefully it's not anything like the Zeiss HD5 I tried years ago. It actually sucked in low light and day light.
I had the Z6 2.5-15X56 recently, but returned it due to incomplete internal blackening coating. I'm a bit fussy when spending a lot of money. I'd say about the same brightness as the Z3, but much better fov and slightly better detail and contrast. I don't know if there's anything noticeably...
Yes. I returned it because from 12-18X the mag ring was extremely tight. The reticle and fov were great. Brightness about the same as my Swarovski Z3. Steiner USA would not provide any warranty service because it's only available overseas.
Anybody have experience with this stock? Do you recommend?
My Tikka T3x needs a new home. It's between this stock I can buy at a good price and get within a week or spend a bit more for a Manners and wait 6-8 months.
Mostly for viewing deer in low light w/o sacrificing day time performance. The B.2 (9X45) has the "better" AK prisms for light transmission (93.7%), but the B.6 (10X50) has a higher transmission rate (94.75%) according to Maven's specs even though they have the S-P prisms. Weight is not a factor...
