I only reload for my 44 mag. A range trip might just be 50 rounds or so. I do not have a tumbler and do not want to buy one since I’m only cleaning 50 cases a week. I have done soaked the brass overnight but it was never very clean. Today I had 60 cases to clean. I deprimed, cleaned the pocket...

    Jacketed soft point vs lead

Okay thanks. I was under the impression a jacketed soft point bullet was basically a cast bullet that just had a thin jacket. Sounds like the actual bullet is different, aside from the jacket?

    Jacketed soft point vs lead

Can someone please explain the difference in terms of performance between a jacketed soft point and a cast lead bullet from say Cast Performance if both bullets are 300 grains in a 44 mag. Trying to decide what to load for bear. Thanks so much.

Patagonia donated to fight climate change

Regarding global warming; 18,000 years ago was the last glacial maximum. There was a 1/2 mile sheet of ice covering much of North America. Coast lines extended hundreds of kilometers out to sea from where they are now, there was a vast landscape connecting Alaska to Siberia. We are currently...

    Mountain Hunting Workout...What is Yours?

Lots of great information here. Wholeheartedly agree with all the base cardio comments. I am mid 40s and have had great success with "grease the groove" for pull ups. I started at being able to do 3 pull ups many years ago and now do 10-15 sets of 10 super slow and strict pull ups 3 days a...

    Please explain tipi benefits

I spend my time in an area with plenty of trees to string up a wall tent style silpoly shelter. Its small, light weight, etc...... Vertical walls, more standing room, can open the front during rain and not have it come into the living area. I can rig it to shed snow well. I am fascinated by...

    Fake Merino Wool?

I really like Smartwool, First Lite and MTNOPS merino wool. Smartwool seems to have the tightest weave of the 3, with FL being less tight.

    Fake Merino Wool?

I have some big name garments that are 95-100% merino wool. However, they are made in other countries such as China and Vietnam. Does anyone know how reliable the wool content is? Anyone test big name base layer makers for real wool? I’ve read of products advertised as 100% wool from China...
