I like to hunt rabbits with a rifle. I find it way more rewarding than a shotgun. I 100% understand that the .22LR is king of rabbit hunting, BUT here's my conundrum: out here in CA, there's a lead ammo ban -- which in every other cartridge, I'm 100% on board with because mono's are the tits...
I'd really like to shoot an NRL hunter but there's none in my immediate area and I'm lazy. I do shoot PRS with it. With the Razor on top it comes in close to 12lbs, which is heavy for a hunting rifle and very light for PRS. It's a 6.5 Creedmoor so the recoil isn't bad but it just forces you...
😂Tell me about it! You're not the first person to give me s*** about it. It's actually the 4-27 and it's heeeeaaaavy. I bought if for comp shooting (this is also my comp gun) but it was the only quality scope I had at the time that I could rely on out in the field. I've since procured an LHT...
Eberlestock F1 Mainframe (Tall), 2 x Batwings, 4000ci Zip-on Dry Bag, Bolt Rifle Scabbard (all FDE color). Used for 2 hunting seasons -- has a few stains but other than that it's in perfect condition. These things are built like tanks. Really loved the modularity and versatility, but trying...
Agree with this in full. That being said, if you think you might open it up in range down the line, it might be worth considering other options. I love a good FFP scope but that's only because I got used to them in comp shooting.
I'd love to know what area of CA you were hunting in. I'm relatively new here, hunting the D11-13 zones. Really enjoying it but haven't found my groove yet.
Similar situation. Been a member for a while now and have been forum tourist for years but I never comment. Guess I gotta find something relevant to say... at least more relevant than this:)
There's a school of thought that insulated boots will make your feet sweat while trekking in, then when you stop to glass, no matter how insulated they are, your toes will get cold. Uninsulated generally mitigates that. I'm of that camp. A great solution for me is to change to dry socks once I...
