I have been using the same Leupold 2-8X for over forty-five years on my same old 30-06. I have always taken an antelope when I had a tag with that combo. It's my only big game set up all these years.
I have never been suckered into getting the newest rifle/scope/spotting scope/binos marketing...
Last year I saw several groups of does without a single buck in eastern MT. It took a lot of driving and glassing to find a buck. After 4 days, I saw a 12 inch buck, the other three bucks I saw were much smaller. I don't hunt private land, maybe there were some on private ground.
I agree. You make a valid point for charging fees to professional dog trainers utilizing public land for a commercial business. If the comment period is still open, I will add that.
I went to a meeting to hear the reasons for the proposed rule changes were.
Reasons given:
NR bird dog trainers were training dogs before the season opened. On opening day the NR dog owners were joining the trainer and getting their limits because the trainer knew exactly where the birds were...
I don't know if it was worth the wait. This Nov was the oddest deer season I have seen in years. Very few bucks out, and they were smaller ones. I hope when the 2024 deer season comes around, it will have been worth the time I spent waiting in line.
I have thought about going there the last several years. Are the firearms paperwork available for an individual, or did you have the guide service handle it for you?
31 years. Got drawn in 2020 for a WA California big horn. After waiting all those years, the unit had a fire three weeks before the opener, the wildlife biologist for central WA never returned a call, even when I tried to get him to plug the horns. He was a total POS, I had to get them plugged...
Most of eastern MT should get rain this coming weekend. I see more younger bucks than mature bucks, but I see their genetic traits in their antlers that look like the mature bucks I have shot.
