I'm loving my 25 creed I put together. Running 70gr. sierra blitzkings right around 3800. That quarter bore hits like a ton of bricks with minimal to no pelt damage.
I’m in Abilene just about 3.5 hours north of you. Just have to knock on doors or find the coffee shop the older farmers and ranchers are at every morning. Worst they can tell you is no.
Both have there place and love both cartridges. I prefer the 243. 70 grain nosler ballistic tips out of a 10 twist 243 are hard to beat. Little to no pelt damage and most of the time they never even exit. Not to mention they hit like a ton of bricks.
I like a cross wind with my down wind side as open as possible. You will never fool a coyotes nose. Lots of scouting and knowing at what times coyotes are moving through a particular area always helps. Good luck.
