I went with the Coleman 200 XP Marine. My yeti 60 is built way better but I think the the Coleman keeps things cold as long and it’s sized right for elk quarters. Easily get an elk in there no problem. Got an elk and five deer in two of them last year. None of them boned out. Got an antelope and...
Another for Exped Mega mat. I use Paco’s on water trips but I don’t think they are as comfortable as Exped. No doubt they are tougher though. I have a 10 year old paco that is as good as new

Just got back from an elk hunt on hood until we got evacuated for a fire. I am using an Exped downmat 9 because I’m a side sleeper with hip issues. Some people don’t like the longitudinal chambers but I sleep with the point of my hip in the crease of the baffle. That seems to work for me. I...
I have a tan set with range finder. Bought at Scheels last fall and have never used hunting. I ended up going with Marsupial. I’d sell for a hundred. Like new condition.

The only time I’ve had damage from a mouse was in a floored tent. He got in through a partially open zipper and then chewed his way back out. At least that’s what my “detective skills” lead me to think. I’m sure mice get into the floorless tent often but they must look around and head back out...
Floorless tents have been around since the Stone Age so not quite a fad. The tyvek is usually just under the sleeping bag (at least for me). I prefer a floorless for any hunt after September 1 and you typically get more room for less weight. Always a plus. And you can use a stove for the sub...
I do in AZ in warm weather (too many snakes and scorpions moving around at night for me) and when mosquitoes are bad. Other than that I prefer floorless.

Was doing the same thing but the Stryker is a little tedious to go back and forth with so I just bought another frame and called it good. Now I can just grab whichever one makes sense when I head out.

Hope my exped keeps holding up. It’s been great so far. My back won’t let me sleep on most sleeping pads for more than a couple nights before I start losing sleep. I’ve done two weeks on my exped without complaints. I won’t go into the high country without it anymore. I’m a side sleeper and my...
I have the Stryker and camp bag and couldn’t get it to work well for me for a base camp setup. I was hoping to have my camp on the camp bag and my kill kit and day bag stuff in the Stryker. With camp bag stuffed full the Stryker sits about 2 feet behind you. You feel like a turtle. It’s very...
I have Kifaru pack and Gun bearer. I like Kifaru duplex packs for heavy loads and the gun bearer works great most of the time.
I think Eberlestock makes the most comfortable packs hauling less than 30 lbs but have been torture with heavy pack outs.

I’ve tried a bunch of Bino harnesses and have switched to the Marsupial set up with rangefinder pouch attached. I like that the lid stays down and I can just one hand grab my binos out. The Adak is similar lid except they have two of the most useless side angle pockets and no place for a compass...
Pretty much same for me. If I’m hunting out of a base camp for a week I’ll go a bit heavier but if I’m on the move I’ll get down below 50 lbs including water.
