Lumenok I have found to hold up the best in harsh conditions. Not the cheapest on the market but I have had them sustain some serious damage after a pass through and still killed other deer with them.
Game bags, wire rack, and block ice! The water has never had any detrimental effects on any meat we have had in the cooler. From 109 degrees in Arizona to 45 in the Midwest we have tried it all. Also a lot to be said about getting air under it to cool it off before your ice melts.
I’ve often found them feeding in the same hay fields. That being said we found some at higher elevation one afternoon while glassing and they spooked the elk out of a small drainage.
