I’m looking at taking my first Barbary sheep hunt next year. I’m looking at New Mexico as my destination. Around the Alamogordo area to be exact. And I’m planning on making as hard on myself as possible I guess because I’m doing it with a bow. I’m not in the right shape for this style of hunt yet but I’ve been going to the gym and working on my cardio because I know it’s going to be a lot of hiking and climbing. But what are some of the must haves aside from the commons like shelter, food etc. I haven’t purchased a pack or anything yet. Not even sure where to begin with a pack. For a shelter I’m looking at the argali rincon 2p. I’ll be taking either my Mathews solocam or my bowtech amplify with me. I shoot a 480gr complete arrow out of both. And both are fixed blade broadheads. Like I said I’m new to sheep and out of state hunts, as this will be my first I’m looking for any and all pointers so that I don’t make any huge mistakes.
