I didn’t see a thread for everyone to post this years mountain goats, and I don’t think my hunts deserve their own threads.

I just got off the mountain a couple days ago after completing a couple of guided goat hunts here in Colorado. The more I hunt goats, the more I admire and appreciate them as a species. Truly a great animal and big game adventure.

Hard for me to get an idea of what the hair will be like on the mount once its cleaned up and dried out. Does goat hair get pretty matted down when wet and I should expect it to look much longer on the mount?

Sooooooo, how long did it take you to decide that this was a shooter?

Looks like a fairly short haired goat which kind of surprises me for BC in September. The mount will look fine but don’t expect it to grow big fluffy pantaloons when it dries out, ya know?

Around 3900. There was a lot more mountain above him but the storm had dropped a foot and a half of snow in the 2-3 days before

I got mine in Northern BC with Milligan Outfitters. These guys are great and they put up with a guy that really struggled up there. About 40 minutes into the pack out I broke my tib/fib and had to be airlifted off the mountain the next day. It was a rough night on the mountain and I probably would not have made it off without Bobby, Logan and Bob. These guys were put into a bad situation and rose to the occasion. Thanks guys!
