I am going to be loading up some of mergers 215gr hybrids for my 300wm. When i started looking for the load data for this particular combo I was unable to come up with a lot so i contacted berger. I wanted to start this thread in hopes that others who already load this bullet for the 300 would also share additional load data they have come up with. For this particular thread the info i have is for a 26" barrel. Berger gave the following loads.

Alliant RE-23 Start 68gr velocity 2666
Max 71.5gr 2781 Approximate fill ratio 97%

Alliant RE-26 Start 70.5gr Velocity 2723
Max 74.5gr 2865 Approximate fill ratio 92%

Alliant RE 33 Start 82.5 Velocity 2758
Max 86.6 2925 Approximate fill ratio 104
COAL 3.561"

They did not include any info regarding primers. I would like to hear what other powders people are having success with and what primers.(i.e. magnum primers vs large rifle primers) Can i use BR-2 primers and have success and have a safe load. I have seen some post of people using H-1000. Any and all help is welcome but lets try and keep any load data posted safe so no one gets hurt.

Well, you can most likely do an internet search on that combo and find what you are looking for. The 300 win mag, H1000 and the 215 berger are, well, just made for one another. Absolute deadly combination.
That being said, my win mag, "Checkmate," uses 73 grains of H1000, RWS brass and fed 215 match primers with the 215 berger.

Justin is your load hot due to seating your bullets long in a custom rifle?

Yes, VERY HOT! DO NOT try this load without working up from what the books say.

In my rifle I running 83 grains of H1000 in Norma brass, and getting 3030 fps out of a 25" barrel. My OAL to the ogive is 3.010".

In the two CA Ridgelines that I've been loading for, we are running 75.5 grains of H1000 in Norma brass and getting just under 2800 fps with 26" barrels. The OAL to the ogive is 2.900". We are not seeing any pressure at all with this load, and I'm sure I can push it a little more.

Both loads are using Rem 9 1/2 mag primers.
