..l.,
I've got 8lbs of imr4831 and a couple hundred 208 eldm and some shiny new primed up adg brass.

Anyone running a similar combo with some velocity reports?

I've also got some h4350 I could use, but that's tapping into my 6.5 manbun reloads.

Thanks

Never used anything that fast. I used RL23 with mine and got 2950+ FPS in a 24" Tikka. I'd give H1000 a shot for better availability and stability if I were to do it again.

Hmm I'll have to see what the LGS has available.
Hornady and hodgdon have load data with velocity only around 2700fps.

I cut this barrel down to 20" for use with a suppressor. I'd like to get to that 2900 magic land if possible but not necessary as I'll keep shots on game to 800 or less.

Im just starting load development on a similar project so I can give you the little info I’ve got so far. I have a Tikka 300wsm with a 22” proof sendero 1-10 twist barrel.
I shot a basic ladder to find max pressure with h4350, Norma brass fed 215 match primers 208 eldm bullets OAL 3.160”
59gr - 2672
59.5 - 2680
60 - 2694
60.5 - 2733
61 - 2721
61.5 - chrono error
62 - 2805 (felt bolt lift increase)
No other pressure signs were observed

That’s all I have so far not much to go on 😂

I forgot I had a lb of StaBall also.....just looked that load up. I might give it a shot and see if I can get low 2800's for velocity. I'll report back when I make some up and can go shoot.

Well, decided to go with imr4831 since I have more of it. Loaded up 2 rds. One at book max of 63.5 and one at 63. No pressure signs on the brass (adg) and no heavy bolt lift.

@Formidilosus carry on at book max with 20 rds and see how it groups at 100 and distance?

I am no expert but uess you have a custom throat the 208 is too long of a bullet for the 300wsm. You end up having to seat the bullet deep into the brass and taking up case volume. You would likely be better off with 180 or even 160 grain bullets. My 2 cents

I'll see what happens with 20 and go from there. I've traditionally shot 168 factory loads out of this gun but wanted to try a heavy bullet.

Definitely not true. Lots of us are doing it. It could use .080-.100 longer throat though to be ideal.

Good to know. Seemed fine with my mag length being just over 3" and the book coal is 2.84

I have a tikka action, 300 wsm, 22” benchmark barrel, running an U7 suppressor shooting 212 ELD-X’s with Norma brass and CCI 250 mag primers.

Long story short, I had UM do a +P on it and tried H4831sc running low 2700’s before pressure signs, and ultimately settled on 61 gr of H4350 pushing the 212’s at 2810 fps average. I had slightly sticky bolt lift at 61.5 and 62 gr. If I remember correctly I was around 2850 fps with 62 gr., but I stuck with 61 to avoid the slight pressure signs and it’s shooting lights out.
