So I talked with Knight and they told me that they have a 45 cal Ultra-Lite in the works. I have the 50 cal Ultra-Lite and very happy with it as my 100 yard treestand woods gun.
What are the ballistic advantages of the 45 cal ML with 40 cal bullet/sabot or a 45 cal no sabot for a deer hunting rifle. The two states I hunt in only have a .36 cal or larger rule for deer.
I see where many are shooting 45 cal in target comps but I am only wanting the advantages of the 45 cal for deer hunting only. I do have some 300 yard open field shots. That being said, I am more of a see how close I can get instead of how far can I shoot kind of guy when it comes to live targets.
