About to have a new family member (dog)

Just put a deposit on this little pup. Our son is going to go nuts! Picking him up 11/20!

Supposed to be a big boy! Hoping I can get him to trail wounded deer. Even if he doesn't, I'm sure he'll be a great family dog!

That’s awesome, new puppies are so fun, and a lot for awhile, but totally worth it and very satisfying. I’m very much a dog guy but have 5 currently so I will have to wait awhile before I get a new pup

I'm a guy that hates it when other people have an out of control dog. I would prep your family that its important to teach the dog the basics and be consistent.

I used a springer for tracking purposes. First off, are there any field trial credentials in his pedigree?
Second, they are a “flusher” as such the pause and wait for u routine will need to be taught. Lastly, trail manners matter as mentioned above. A flusher is inclined to make people jump. My springer helped me recover a few bears over the years. I didn’t hunt with him. I’d go home or to camp and bring him out solely for the purpose. I went with a Large Munsterlander after my Springer experience.
