Annealing set up question

So obviously during set up if you over anneal a piece of brass it’s toast, garbage. But what if you under anneal one on the first attempt? Can you make adjustments and then run that same piece of brass through until you get the setup timing right? Will that piece of brass lose its integrity if it gets put to heat several times to get the timing right? Will it give you a false reading since it’s already been run through once? I’m trying to not waste pieces of brass until I get set up correct.

Yes you can anneal the same piece twice. There is a YouTube video that was done by the owner of Amp I believe that covers this exact thing. I use old brass to get me settings right but with a flame annealer you cant just set it and be done, you will have to make minor tweaks here in there especially with large batches
