Well, running a successful business isn't easy, I've been running my own for 20+ years and it's a constant struggle. Mom and Pop brick and mortar businesses compete with online guys that are running slim margins in order to draw the buy cheaper crowd and in the end for whatever reason if the math doesn't add up everybody gets sent home. I have an order that says it was shipped on Oct 17, with a tracking number and thats it. No movement on the order other than it was picked up at West Valley City at 1100 on the 17th. My CC has not been charged...yet. It is coming to Canada, so if truly was shipped, then it will sit with all the other mail/parcels that are sitting around cause Canada Post is on strike. Might get it by Christmas, might....

I think this sheds a new light as to why companies like Kuiu or First Lite refuse to do business with third party retailers. It wouldn't shock me if Sitka follows suit.

One wrong move from a retailer and you're staring at a $500,000 loss. Sheesh!

This is such a great point. DTC business models don't just enable you to reduce cost, it takes a lot of this distribution channel/inventory risk with third parties off the table.

I think you're right. Anyone in this space is going to study the BK filings and change their model accordingly.
