Black ovis/camofire going out of business?

Funny story, I sent them an email a few years ago expressing my displeasure with their partnership with convicted poachers and said I'd never buy from them again as long as they were paying him.

They never responded but the next day they did go into my BO account and manually set my rewards points to zero. I thought that was quintessential Utah passive aggressive and it cracked me up.

Welp… looks as though you get the last laugh this time! Would be crazy if they traced the business going under to not breaking ties with a known poacher

BO owners might suck and got what they deserve, but their employees that show up and just work, they dont deserve that.

again, i understand not wanting to support and company because of personal values. My issue is with people who happily cheer and give themselves credit for it as an end goal. everyone gets so pissed off at each other and cheers for a lose, often with the lens of anger. you dont have to agree with everyone, but dont be a scum bag that cheers on someone's failure is all im saying. These people likely have kids who now have to go without, and we are happy about that?

I guess I don’t see the people on the floor actually working as being black ovis; I was completely referring to whoever was running the business. Yeah it totally sucks for the day to day workers. The bankruptcy documents sure seem to paint it as the company was going under for a bit, they kept ordering products from vendors, not paying for those products and the leadership either gave themselves a parachute or listed themselves among those owed money

i get your stance and my original comment was to a dude staking a claim in being part of this and happy about it.

It’s just a terrible situation all around. I hope justice is served to all those negatively affected by these boneheads or some form of it.

I’m no expert on how bankruptcy works but I believe all their assets will be held by the bank until they are eventually sold off most likely at auction to help pay back creditors. So no I would not chance ordering anything.

Correct. The Chapter 7 Trustee assigned to this case now controls BO. There’s nothing to order, nor any “business as usual.” Day to day operations have ceased.

Yeah I hope they would be able to. Unfortunately unemployment is a fraction of what you use to make but it is better than nothing. I’m really just hoping people can recover and get back on their feet quickly. Not the owners, but the employees who showed up one day and found out they don’t have a job anymore.

Companies /Corporations down size, go bankrupt, get bought out and consolidate, lay-off...etc. every day of the week. Obviously sucks for the employees that are affected, but not unique to Black Ovis employees. Those with some drive and determination will find something else.

Closures are never good for anyone, usually a lot more stress for the owners than anyone knows, and likely has been going on for a while. I hope for tge best for all involved.

Things don't look good, but to be fair things could have been leveraged for a while and the creditor debt could be a fraction of what was dumbed into it to keep it going, or not.


I'll wait and see how things shake out before drawing too many conclusions, tho I wasn't pleased for BO to still carry products from some individuals of course.

For the most part, this isn't a terrible time to be looking for a job, tho I know in our area some of the easy, quick, temporary stuff has been picked up by some effected by the gov't shutdown.

Hopefully everyone finds themselves in a better situation quickly.

Can’t believe this thread is still going . I’ll say this about boycotting a retailer- if you really wanted to boycott every retailer that supports something you don’t agree with you’d go naked and probably starve to death. And you wouldn’t have a phone or pc to even tell people about it. If you have a problem with a specific guy or product, don’t buy his stuff. If it actually puts a dent in the retailer’s sales of that particular person’s product they’ll probably stop carrying it. You can still inform the retailer that you disagree with their decision to carry so and so’s product but giving them a threatening ultimatum is bad form IMO.

That being said, I highly doubt a few guys boycotting Camofire and BO had anything to do with them going under.
