Can’t believe this thread is still going . I’ll say this about boycotting a retailer- if you really wanted to boycott every retailer that supports something you don’t agree with you’d go naked and probably starve to death. And you wouldn’t have a phone or pc to even tell people about it. If you have a problem with a specific guy or product, don’t buy his stuff. If it actually puts a dent in the retailer’s sales of that particular person’s product they’ll probably stop carrying it. You can still inform the retailer that you disagree with their decision to carry so and so’s product but giving them a threatening ultimatum is bad form IMO.

That being said, I highly doubt a few guys boycotting Camofire and BO had anything to do with them going under.

I think the decision to platform and enrich convicted poachers is an indicator of leadership's lack of character and conscience, and the fact that the poor decisions and greed that led to a chapter 7 came from the same minds is the proof.

I don't think any of us are dumb enough to think that we have individual sway with any one retailer, but to say "who cares, everyone who sells anything is just as bad as Kendall" is just ridiculous. We're not talking about Walmart, these are tiny companies with a handful of employees, and most of them are run by fairly decent people.

It's really not that complicated. There's lots of stores that sell hunting gear and lots of direct to consumer companies. Not hard to find one selling something you want that isn't a supporter of muley freak, the bowmars, or other similar parasites/black eyes of the hunting industry.

Of course we all purchase things from folks we dont necessarily align with but if there are easy alternatives voting with dollars can move a needle or at least make you feel better about your purchases.

Smaller companies are easier to sway. Their lower revenue makes boycotting more painful, and small niche companies are much easier to avoid because they have more direct competitors. I find it strange that you take it as a middle finger for a company to continue selling items that most likely (I have no direct knowledge of) were selling. I have a hard time comprehending the mindset of a lot of people in this tread that because BO carried a line of goods from a manufacturer that has a bad past, they themselves should be boycotted. How about the all the pieces of equipment that were branded BO that were high value pieces in a market saturated by high prices? From my interactions with them, they seemed to have have niche that filled a space that quite a few hunters I know complain about. The I want new tech pieces without the Sitka/Kuiu name tax. I have been in a small niche company in a competitive space now for almost 4 years now and I will tell you it is far more stressful that the big corp roles because exactly as you say they are easier to sway ie move the needle on revenue. Small companies don't have the same safety nets to deal with bigger variances in cash flow. I don't know what caused this but I can for sure say that those in management/leadership had many sleepless nights months before this trying to find a path through so that those hourly employees stayed employed. I'll step off my soap box now.

Crispi is listed as a creditor, being owed $370,000.

They owe Muley Freak $144,000.

Sitka is owed $509,000.

Rokslide is owed $599.

Interesting of note, Kendall Card is listed as a creditor, being owed $500,000.

To be clear: I don’t think anyone boycotting BO/CF had anything to do with their demise. It appears that leadership just sucked cash out until the company died.

The big point is that it makes sense that the people who chose to partner with a poacher for the money it would make them also destroyed a company and paid themselves lump sums of money immediately prior to filing chapter 7 and screwing tons of people over in the process.

They warehouse and ship multiple Elk Shape branded products for him and like other brands, he is out a significant amount of money.

The big difference being he isn’t going to pursue a lawsuit to recover his losses. He is writing it off as a loss and moving on. Looking for new partners to take over the storing and shipping of his branded goods.

Did you pull up the docs or just repost? If you have access I am curious what the referenced severance payouts before filing were. IE last paycheck or parachute payments? I don't feel like signing up for an account to access the files personally but am curious if someone else is already looking.

There were a couple other Asian suppliers on the list, not just that one.

No idea what a typical bankruptcy filing looks like but the claim of $500k to Kendall without a category and the personally assigned credit card with a balance over $100k stand out to the unfamiliar eye.
