They’re more expensive than rebarreling a bolt gun for sure. You can pick most caliber barrels up in standard contour for $1500. Plus side is no down time for a barrel swap and no gunsmith needed. Also, the Blaser barrels also seem to do pretty well as for longevity. I’m not sure what you mean by wide range of actions. My knock against the Blaser is the cost of barrels and the wide range of actions when I’d want a Rokstock on it.
I was under the auspice last time I looked into it that there’s several different receivers for Blasers — meaning fitment for stocks isn’t consistent. But it’s been a while and I may be misremembering! They’re more expensive than rebarreling a bolt gun for sure. You can pick most caliber barrels up in standard contour for $1500. I believe there are essentially two receiver variations. The professional style, where the receiver is embedded in the stock. And the “other style” (wood stock variations, ultimate, etc) that has the receiver as a standalone part that the buttstock and forend bolt onto. The later would certainly be easy to make an aftermarket stock for.I was under the auspice last time I looked into it that there’s several different receivers for Blasers — meaning fitment for stocks isn’t consistent. Drop test for what purpose? The rifle is basically impossible to fire until you push the safety off, which in effect "cocks" the firing pin.No drop test on this system?
To see if the system stays zeroed.Drop test for what purpose? The rifle is basically impossible to fire until you push the safety off, which in effect "cocks" the firing pin.
Yeah the RTZ of the entire system is very impressive, as evidenced by the test form did.Thought Blaser was renowned for it's return to zero.
Assemble, shoot, disassemble, assemble, shoot. always back to zero.
So I've read everywhere.
No drop test on this system?
So pumped you’re doing this. Love my R8.After tightening the scope mounts levers appropriately, the RTZ of the scope mount is perfect.

Here you go. Easy peasy.I’m so pumped, all my R8 stuff arrives this week (stock + receiver, bolt and housing, barrel). Trying to find a 30mm low mount has been impossible though.
Does that mount a scope as low as the 30mm low Blaser mount? It appears to be higher and I’d rather not have to tape stuff to my stock if I can help it.Here you go. Easy peasy.

Yep. The standard is the low. I use the +3 and it’s still pretty low.Does that mount a scope as low as the 30mm low Blaser mount? It appears to be higher and I’d rather not have to tape stuff to my stock if I can help it.
It’s QD for one. And the best QD system I have found. Not to fully derail the thread, but what makes you like that mount more than the factory Blaser?

Cheaper too.
