I do carry a cable lock - either lock my stand to a tree overnight (dark to dawn) and will lock any buck I get to a tree if have to go get my game cart. That is just a lot bigger than anything I've ever gotten before.

Too many folks willing to steal deer/elk/whatever.

They use bolt cutters by me to steal my chained up stands 20 ft off the ground . Nothings safe . Wow what buck!

Same here. I had a stand stolen than was locked and chained. Nothing's sacred.

It wasn’t a BOAL but a nice buck I shot down in a hole. I tied him to a tree with rope just like the pic, then hiked up and out. There was about a foot of snow and it got dark. Came back in the morning with help and found lots of lion tracks. They actually followed my drag trail then tried to steal my buck. They ended up eating on a hind quarter.

I'd cape it and haul the head out since I'm hiking out anyway. Then bring the cart or hauling pack for the meat.
