Boat questions

Wife got me a 12 foot fiberglass jon boat. I'm in Washington in the southwest section. I assume it can handle the waters around here. However is there anything I should avoid? And what light bar are you guys running?

I've tried a bunch of light bars....it's pretty much futile.
