Looking for opinions on a simple, stable, standing height tripod that will stay on a covered deck for regular wild life viewing. Does not need to be light or compact.

I really like my Vortex Pro GT. No longer made so used only. But usually affordable. And lifetime warranty.

Slik Pro 700 DX AMT Tripod

Sportsman’s sells it for $120, legs only. Buy the head separately. It’s 5.5 lbs, can max out at 70”. After you account for the head and optic it’s probably ~76 inches, which is on the taller end for tripods.

It is the best balance between stability and price that I have ever seen. It is very stable. I don’t need another tripod but almost bought it after checking it out in the store.

If your looking to spend a little more the Slik 8 or 900 series are both quite solid. Even my 733 is quite stable at 3 lbs.

Depending on how tall you are and what you are glassing with the Sirui T004SKVA5 is a fabulous deal. Reduced to $139.99 from $189.90
