The beast adapter reduces a lot of the cons of a bino harness option.
 I have the Savage Thread Works Beast Adapter which allows me to put most any holster for any gun directly behind my existing bino hanress. 
I already have straps for my pack and my bino hanresss, I didn’t want another layer of straps under my bino harness to have take on and off. Additionally with a stand alone holster/rig, it seems like if you have to a whole ‘nother rig if you want to carry a different gun, which can get expensive.

		 so it is chest holster for me, the higher the better.  Chest is my favorite and easiest draw point anyway.  I can crawl, stumble, fall, scrabble over fences, and the pistol does not snag or poke me.
