Hello all

Nonresident with 2 mule deer points here.

With the shakeup in Colorado, and the fact that I’m growing older by the year, I’ve become interested in buying a landowner voucher/tag in CO to kill a mulie. Likely from a website like hunt domain. Can anyone give me an idea of what this rifle tag will cost, or at least give me a range? I don’t need to kill a giant but a nice buck on a DIY hunt would be great.

As far as HD no need to guess, they list the price of the tags right on the site.

You can draw a few units with your 2pp that you will have a good chance at a decent representative buck. This is assuming you put forth some effort and don't just road hunt.

But to answer the question, landowner vouchers can cost anywhere from $4-500 to a couple thousand. Then you still have to buy the license. Plus travel expenses, food, and possibly lodging if you aren't camping.

I'm debating buying one myself vs. using three points this year ( non Resi). What are reputable places or websites to look for vouchers? HF list some on their website, but what others have people used and happy with the outcome? I've seen from $800 to 8K. I am ore in the lower end of that spectrum.

I’m going through HF. Feel free to message me

I would look everywhere that has them posted. Colorado isn't nearly as sketchy as New Mexico because they cannot be sold through 3rd party or transferred multiple times. The landowner gets the vouchers, has to sell them directly and only once. Use websites to get contact info, then it is fairly easy to do some research and make sure you are dealing with the actual LO.

Depends on the unit and if it’s PLO or unit wide but typically I’ve seen them from 2,500 -6k. With the highest being 10k

What do you call a decent buck?

A decent representative buck is a 150 class 4x4 with eye guards. Not huge not small. More often than not, the Eastern folk who have hunted whitetails their whole lives will see a 150 class buck and think it is 170+.
