Condition of NW Colorado Elk

My son has ample points to hunt units 10, 2 all seasons and 201 in black powder. I am looking for input from hunters who hunted any of these units in 2023 following the rough winter, especially number of bulls and their physical condition. We had planned on hunting it in 2023 but held on to the points, waiting to see how faired. Any input would be appreciated.

A friend of mine helped out on a unit 2 hunt, the hunter was guided 8 days and then hunted unguided 8 days, several over 300” bulls, decent rut. One or two bulls that were pushing 340-350 he said, was never able to get closer than 100 yards with archery tackle so no bull killed. I don’t think he could go wrong with any of the Nw units I think the big bulls did okay and didn’t all die off. Pick the terrain he likes go hunt
