Cost to paint interior of house?

Patching, sanding, priming, and two-coating the entire interior (walls, ceilings, and trim) of a 2,000 square foot house will not be a 40 man hour job. Maybe 3 men in a 40-hour week, depending. Johnny Homeowner and his kids can half-ass it all he wants and save a pile of money; but if you're paying an actual professional to do a job and put his name and reputation on it, you're going to pay real money for that. I'm not even a painter, or a tradesman, but it chafes my ass for gen pop to act like they can do anything a skilled man can do, at the same level they can do it at. Anybody is welcome to do their own work at whatever skill level they possess, but let's not pretend it's anything like what you'll get from a professional. And yes, I understand the difference between a professional and some boob who bought a van and a business license - check references before you hire.
