At the risk of being redundant... Use waders (neoprene or trashbags), spare boots, tight gaiters, goretex socks, horses, pack-raft, hiking poles, even take-your-pants-off-and-go-barefoot, etc. at the totally obvious wide and knee-deep red crossings. Or find the horizontal ponderosa with the top worn flat hidden in the trees at the green crossing. :p

Waders. Style varies with situation but have been using them for almost two decades now, sure see less people on the other side.

If close by the truck waders are good. If a ways from the truck I just cross in crocs no matter the conditions and bring a small towel to dry my feet/legs off. Trekking poles are a no brainer.
