CVA Optima Question

Just picked up my first muzzleloader today for a muzzy elk trip this year. My wife and I should both have tags. We typically rifle (and archery for me), so this is all new. Got a CVA Optima and really have one question. In the box there was a longer brass piece that can be screwed on the end of the ramrod, but if you do that, the ramrod won't fit back in the guides to hold it on the rifle. The CVA book that comes with it is far from helpful on a few things. So, can I seat bullets without the extension piece? It appears it may only be required to push patches through for cleaning.

I've found some primers on here, will be using the Thor bullets and BH209 powder (ordering the proper breach plug tonight).

Thanks in advance! Excited to have something new to play with :)

Yes the rod will seat the bullets without the brass piece. I use it with the brass piece when I can (home, range) and without it in the field.

Watch your fingers. The rod without the extension is just long enough.
