Do Marsupial bino harnesses really mess up the gps and compass?

I know this may be beating a dead horse but I’m going though the dilemma of getting a bino harness for my new Swaro el 10x42. I was set on the marsupial till I heard about the magnet issue messing with compasses and the like. Marsupial says to change the gps to true north on your device but does that really fix it? I know they make a non magnetic version but when emailing them they highly suggested I get the magnetic version. I’m also looking at the AGC Ravus Flex pack as an alternative. Has anyone else recently decided on a non magnetic pack? This will be used mule deer and elk hunting in Colorado while I wear a mystery ranch metcalf.

I been using my marsupial for many years. In fact I own several. All magnetic. I did a bit of testing with it. I found it did effect my old lowrance gps if I got it too close. My last three Iphone compasses were not effected. I never tested it with my old style compass. It doesn't seem to effect my google maps. I never ran any other routing or mapping on my iPhone so cant testify to that.

In regards to using OnX and utilizing the feature of the direction blue arrow while traversing it will affect your bearing. I have 34/35 sleeve and no matter how far out I hold my arms it affects the bearing. I've stayed with my original FHF for that reason. I'm also waiting for Vortex to release their pro pack in ranger green instead of dry earth and I will be going that route eventually.

My small marsupial with the magnet definitely alters my OnX position when using the blue arrow. I can extend my arm and get a true reading.

The marsupial harness magnet will mess up the compass in my kestral if brought too close

I have the no magnet version and like it. Got the no magnet because I did have magnets in other pouches mess up my bearing on onX on the iPhone. The top down opening style is the way to go. It does limit what I use the side pockets for but that’s not that big of a deal to me. I think I have the older non magnet version.

^^^^
The no mag option is fine. I have the gen 1 and even thiugh the bungees can make noise it isnt bad. They hold the binos securely and I can still keep my windchecker in the side pouch. I'm not sure why they would steer you away from it.

The magnets in my dad’s badlands harness messed with my iPhone if I was within 3-4ft of him. For some reason his worked fine tho.

I use the no mag stone glacier

Before I bought my marsupial non-magnetic I had a different mag bino harness. I could change my bearing by extending my arm, so I went non-mag & have had that same bino harness for many years. Which is saying something as I’m constantly “upgrading”

Never messed with my On-X on IPhone. Not that hard to hold it a little farther away from the harness.

I like my Marsupial non-mag bino harness. Gets alot of play in the mountains during the Fall. Stay away from the magnetic version. You don't want to be confusing your navigation device/app when your safety is on the line. Screw that, I'm not going to change my gps/app to true north as it doesn't fundamentally fix the problem.

Unrelated to the actual op question but cool fact, they do not mess with pacemakers. I took my bino harness in with me to a cardio appt. Doc hooked up my pacemaker to his laptop, slapped the harness directly over the pacemaker and said he’s got my back if something happens. We waited 120 seconds and nothing happened and he said use it as much as I want. Second cool fact, I contacted marsupial gear; I bought the harness before my life changing event, they said if it affects it, let them know and I could return it even though it was years old. They were willing to work with me no matter what happened and length of time; solid company for one off situations.
