East Coast Backpack Cardio

Any forum members on the east coast interested in getting together for some loaded hiking trips? I'm living in south west Connecticut for the next year or two and need to keep those mountain legs strong until I can work my way back west. Any one out near me that would like to get together? Misery loves company!

Hike up and down Bear Mountain a couple times. Lots of gnarly terrain on the north face, plus great views. Should get you over 4,200 of net vertical in just 6 miles from Undermountain Trailhead to the northern base of Bear Mountain and back again. For bonus mileage, drop into Sage's Ravine and find a shady spot for lunch.


Unfortunately I'm Florida now. From CT originally though.

I'm just north of new haven. Hike Bluff's head in guilford a lot with weight. It's not long, only about 1/2 mile to the summit but it's 1100' of elevation gain over that half mile so it's steep lol.
