I mentioned this in another thread but I wanted to see if others have similar observations or if it was just my eyesight.

I have noted that for similarly dimensioned reticles. I find it MUCH easier to see a .05 Mil wire reticle versus a .05 Mil etched reticle. The wire reticle always has noticeably more "pop" compared to the etched.

My assumption is that it is because the physical wire reticle completely occludes the light passing into the optic to that width while the etched reticle is maybe letting slightly more light pass around the edges or maybe some light leaks through the blackening material that is used to fill the etching.

Anyone else notice that or have any insider knowledge that might make explain a difference or is it just my eyes?
