hey all I have recently came across a bunch of stuff about the 155grain scenars on game out of a 308.

just wondering what is the general experience with the 139grain out of the 6.5 creedmoor?

real-life experiences of course preferred. Don't talk to me about target bullets not working on game :)

bullets are getting tough to come by but I have seen these around and at a decent price

I've only killed 1 deer with a 123. Impact velocity about 2450. Worked great but a sample of 1. No elk experience with them. I'd probably lean toward 139's for elk.

I think we have taken 4 whitetails and 5-6 coyotes with the the 139 grain and they have worked perfect. Ranges 80-530 yards out of a Creedmoor. Pass through on all of them and good expansion. All of the deer ran less than 30 yards and were down with heart or lung shots. One exited through the off side shoulder on a good sized doe, the rest only encountered ribs. I don’t have plans on switching bullets anytime soon.

I used the 147ELD with great results year before last. 127LRX performed fantastic last year. Ima try out the 139 Scenar for myself this year. Not that it’s much of a mystery, what with guys like Pat running up impressive sample sizes already. :)

One small to average sized mule deer buck. Shot was under 100yds. Muzzle velocity just under 2800 out of my 6.5 Creedmoor. Bullet worked great. They pencil for about 3-4” then make a nice wound channel.

Theres a huge deceased by scenar thread on 24 hour campfire, 20 some pages.
