Hey folks, Im trying to learn more about field judging bucks from a distance. Id love to see zoomed/digiscoped photos of a deer paired with a kill photo and score if you have it?

Zoomed in or angled grip and grins are tough for me to learn from as they always look bigger and dont give much perspective relative to body size.

Thanks!

You will hear guys speak of Gross or Net score. I'm a trophy hunter and I want scoreable points so I'm looking at Net score. There is a ton of info out there on the subject. This video is pretty good to give you an idea of what different size bucks score. Most guys don't realize how big a booner buck is (180+) and they over score many bucks, especially the velvet bucks.

Here are some pics and some footage of my kid's buck from 2022. Below is a link to a couple of minutes of video of the buck.

Some 2021 pics of the buck, we had him in the scope at 100yds in 21’ but he jumped from his bed and ran off, shot him in the exact same spot within 50yrds in 2022.

He was just a clean 4x4 in 2021 without the weird beam.

The buck ended up Grossing 184 5/8”, wish his backs would have matched his fronts and he would have been a giant. Over 25” main beams.

My youngest sons 2021 buck.

Not the best pics but the video is ok, this buck was way heavier than he looked in the pics. He was defiantly older than the 2022 buck and was killed in the same general area.
