Flying to Alaska this September with my MSR Windburner on Alaska Air just wondering if I will have a problem if I have it in my checked bags? I am not taking any iso pro just the stove. Do I have to do anything special? Just trying to avoid a potential problem.

Why wouldn’t you bring an empty fuel canister? I thought that’s the point of a multi-fuel stove? It’s easy to fly with.

Are you doing a flyout hunt in Alaska? If so (and if you haven't already checked), check if you will be able to bring stove fuel on your bush plane as some types of fuel are not alllowed...

you really take a lotto draw when you get the agent doing your check in. it is entirely possible to get a jerk that dont want the stove on that plane. print the regs out and have them in hand.

and yes i read that you are not taking a fuel canister. the odds are in your favor but them folks are on a power trip.
