Our freezer didnt shut all the way and a bunch of Costco meat and what little game i had left from last year was pretty much spoiled.

I was able to save some of it, using a thermometer to save anything in the 30s but there was stuff that was in the 60s and 70s.

Anybody use or recommend a freezer alarm that sends an alert to your phone ?

I've left the freezer open way too many times and have lost a lot of meat. It sucks. We finally bought a lock for our freezer like this, https://a.co/d/6olzigb . It's not an alarm but since putting it on we have never had an issue again. It also keeps the kids out of there.

Wow, that's a simple solution.

I like it.

Alarm might still be good for power trip or something.

I recently bought a 3-pack of Yo-link sensors for each freezer. It already has paid off. It alerted me when we were out of town and the kid watching our pets left the freezer door open a crack.

Wouldn’t a temperature sensor be better than a door alarm? That way you’re covered if the freezer itself goes bad or the door is left open.

I’ve really like our yo-link sensors. I got a notification when one of our freezers stopped working for no particular reason and the internal temperature hit 25 degrees (you can set this at whatever temp you want). I was able to transfer everything to another freezer and after a few days plugged it back in just to see if it would work. It seemed to work just fine and after a week started using it again.

Without being able to monitor the temperature I never would’ve been able to trust it again. That was almost 6 months ago and it’s still working and saved me from having to buy a new freezer. The peace of mind they give me is totally worth it and I would pay double what I did in a heartbeat if I needed to. I just pulled up the the data for the one that gave me and issues and over the last week I can see it has hovered between 0-3 degrees other than when I was in it doing a little organizing and the temp bumped up close to 20 and immediately dropped back down when I shut the door.
