Gear Recommendations

I’m going to Northern BC September 12-24 2024 for a horseback moose/caribou hunt. I’m looking for some gear recommendations. Specifically for outer layers. I’m looking at the Kuiu Super Down PRO jacket pants and the Kutana Gale force Jacket & pants. Leaning towards the Super down but I’ve heard if it gets compressed under rain gear it loses its warming ability. Any help would be appreciated……

That time of year you will experience more rain than anything. I run Stone Glacier down jackets, down puffy pants etc. and I've never had warming problems while layering, especially under rain gear. I run the Kryptek Jupiter tops and bottoms for rain gear and they have been good. Kuiu, SG, Kryptek would be my gear options for lightweight, durable mountain gear.

The super down pro is on a different sizing scale, would recommend your rain jacket being a size larger to accommodate that.
