Just bought a used bag and it has a smell to it. Is there any recommendations on how get the smell out? Tried vinegar and water, might have not used enough vinegar but the smell is still there.

A tub with warm water and a cup or so of baking soda.. Submerge the bag, add white vinegar and give the bag a good scrub while it's reacting.. Let it soak a bit then rinse and hang in the sun to dry..

Mule team Borax is also a great scent killer.

i soak my bags in the tub overnight in scent free soap. I put weight on top to keep it under water. If the water is black the next day, I will empty the tub and do again. Scrub any stains with a bristle brush and rinse really well. I hang on my porch and air dry for a couple of days. It is amazing how much dirt, sweat, blood etc., you can get out of a bag with an occasional cleaning.

Hanging it outside on a sunny day will also help, if not eliminate musty odors. UV light from the sun kills mold and bacteria. Works well with tents that were put away wet and got musty, should work with a backpack.
