How often are you getting a new pack?

Foam and suspension will wear out but a 500d bag should last about long time.

I don’t pack as much as a lot of people here and seem to get around 10 years out of a frame before it needs some attention. I just retired a duplex hunter, it would still be getting use if kifaru was able to replace parts.

Most guys are just chasing something they will never find. Find pack you like and put on the blinders.

I’m hoping my current exo k4 will do me well till 2035

I’ve got an xcurve that’s about 10 years old. It’s just now getting to the point where it doesn’t carry weight the same. I’ve replaced shoulder straps, belt, stays, etc but I think it’s just worn out.
I’ve been more than happy with it though, don’t think you could ask for much more. I’ve carried dozens of animals thousands of miles. Under 50lbs it’s still great and I still use it.

I've only ever had one "real" pack. Kuiu Icon Pro 7200 has packed out probably a dozen elk and deer over the years, and the only real wear is on the bottom of the hip belt from setting it down on the ground about a million times.

Well I still have an OG exo. Except after 6-7 years they sent me the newer version of a complete new pack cuz the squeaks were driving me nuts. Have a few years in this one and it's fine but has a few sketchy spots from packing HEAVY loads. Use the one 5000 size bag for everything and I'm content.

I have been running a SG for about 5 years now and packed out several animals. Its starting to show some wear nothing too bad yet. Wondering how often everyone replaces their packs?
I tend to keep my pack and frame unless I find something that appears to work better for me, or it gets worn out. I tried EXO when they first came out, but the frames never fit me. I liked the bags, so I added their bag to a Kifaru frame, and I used that setup through two sets of hip belts and shoulder straps. But every version of EXO that came out I would try them to see if it was better that my curent setup. Since the K4 came out, I have stayed with it because it fits me perfectly.
I think most guys get too wrapped up in believing that they need new gear every year because they think it will make a difference in their success, but the truth is, they are just wasting money.

I've been using the same Mystery Ranch Metcalf since 2018 with no plans to change anything until it gets to the point it's no longer functional, aside from a few bloodstains it's held up great, no failures or major wear areas...maybe I just don't hunt hard enough to wear a pack out quickly?

Prepare to be tempted…. 😂

I just picked up an early prototype of the k4x. I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of people prematurely replacing packs once this thing gets out in the public. I don't know how he made it so much lighter AND stronger. It's pretty incredible. The new material is wild. Steve had samples in his office and told me to try and tear it. It's like 5 or 6 x stronger than cordura!

I bought an Exo K2 5500 back in early 2018. After somewhere either side of 100 animals being packed out, a few decent backpacking trips, and a hike through Papua New Guinea, I decided to retire it. Most of my reasoning for doing this was Kifaru having their sale on the CB stuff before they moved to Wyoming, so I bought a Duplex Lite frame and Reckoning bag. I've also since acquired a 2000 bag for the Exo frame and a Stryker XL for my Kifaru frame, so I have two decent extended and day pack setups. My wife now uses the Exo but I've also let friends borrow it to try it out if need be.
