I'm trying to wrap up planning an Idaho Black Bear hunt in Yellowjacket Mountains area... Unit 27/28. Looking at the Morgan Creek #639 SNOTEL site it shows that area still has 19" of snow. Or maybe I don't know what the hell I'm looking at. Am I too soon? I'd like to go in the next week or two and will be driving in from Salmon.

Thanks.

Looks like you are looking at the correct info, hard to say if it's to early for sure. I would expect snow drifts and double or triple that snow pack on the north slopes and shaded areas. also something to keep in mind is what elevation that reading is taken, looks like 7600 feet. so creek and river bottoms will have significantly less. But like I mentioned, just takes one snow drift to keep you from getting to a trail head. I would go with 2 or 3 back up plans.
