Anyone ever use the mountain star in heavy rain and wind and some snow? I see carbon poles are sold out but still have aluminum. Buddy has the storm star and loves it, but it’s a couple pounds heavier. Will be using it during October at high elevation but hopefully not heavy snow. High winds possible.

Works great, you specifically want the aluminum poles. CF are junk.

Nice, thanks! I don’t really need it right now, but for $250 it might be better to grab one. I can’t imagine it will be any cheaper over the next year or two.

The aluminum is really not much heavier than the carbon poles from what I remember and I have seen many stories about the carbon poles snapping on this tent. Aluminum all the way
