Labradar help

Hey any tips getting a Labradar working for archery? I don’t have an external mic for it but maybe that’s my problem. I couldn’t get it to pick anything up. Trigger is set at 1, I tried both options for the trigger as well.

Triston at Precision Cut Archery has a diy system that works well. He uses a cheap clamp of some sort to attach it to the bow.

Bought the low noise trigger that labradar sells and it registered 4 of around 30 shot.

The doppler got all the shots, any insight ?

Aimed correctly at target?

With the correct settings, and using the external mic, I don't recall having much issue at all.

What are you calling the doppler?

Set to archery, probably aimed properply at a 4x4 target.

I have the laradar V1 and in the menu there is an option for doppler or trigger.

When I use the mic I set it it to trigger, am I missing something here ?

Seems like you have things correct.

I haven't used mine in a little while.

Location of the mic maybe? Move it around some on the riser? How far away is the target? I don't think I have used it for a target less than 25 yards away or so.

Tested the mic on my pc it works, also armed the radar and tapped the mic and orange light blink.

Target was around 77 yards, I read the manual again and go back to testing.

Everything seems to work so the problem is most probably me.

At 77 yards, depending on the speed, might have trouble picking it up.


I was able to use mine at that distance, or 75 yards maybe? but was upper 290's fps. I could see if you were in the 260's it might have trouble picking it up. Arrow getting above the radar path until its further out. That's just a guess tho, don't know exactly how wide the doppler band is.

I got mine working with an external mic. I read a tip to tape a short piece of arrow shaft in the V at the top you use to aim it. I was way off aiming it without. Once I aimed it looking through the arrow shaft, it worked perfectly

I got a tip from a comment on youtube regarding the SNR reading, which is a Signal-to-Noise Ratio. He recommended excluding any readings with SNR less than 20, which eliminates any readings having a weak signal relative to noise that the device received when recording measurements.

Full disclosure: I just received my Labradar V1 yesterday in the mail, so I'm speaking of things I have zero experience with yet. Sounds like I have a similar setup to yours, though the mic I purchased is the one offered by JKL Precision. My goal is the same as others here: produce accurate archery sight tapes using Precision Cut Archery app. I'll post back here with my experience with it after I've had an opportunity to test.

Will lower the distance a bit. I only need 20 and 65. The radar should pick my arrow they are 360 grains at 70#.
