Leaving Thursday... Any updates or advice?

I leave thursday for 7 days of hunting the southern brooks range. Any updates on weather or what to expect? This is my first trip for Caribou and really hoping to get a crack at wolf. I am taking, boots, waders and muck boots so that I am ready for wherever the caribou may be. I know it had been insanely warm, but I would assume the bugs will not be an issue this late? Thanks guys, I can not wait to step foot in ALASKA

Well on Friday off of the Denali Highway it was 65° and while cutting up my bou I was destroyed by the whitesocks. Up where you’re going they may be knocked down by now. I did see snow was in the forecast for today and tomorrow up there so I’d plan on good meat hanging weather hopefully. Good luck!

Good luck. This little fella popped up at 500 yards, and headed right in after my buddy shot his caribou. I didn't ask his permission to post the photo, so I blanked out his ugly mug.

It is bear country, so be bear aware. Keep a clean camp, and cache meat downwind.

Keep your eyes out for blueberries too. They are a great way to mix up the daily diet. If you are near water, bring a fishing pole for down time. Char and grayling are pretty easily had with dry flies, egg patterns, or silver bladed spinners with red, pink, or orange bodies like a blue fox Vibrax.

I usually keep some cheap cigars handy like Black and Milds to keep the bugs at bay
